The first thing that struck us when we accessed the Papershelm.com was the promotional ad that stated all orders were now being provided 50% discounts. Wow. When we investigated a bit further, however, we discovered that the original prices they were quoting (before the discount) were exceptionally high. The 50% discount brought prices down to the average for the industry.

Our review of Papershelm.com has proceeded like all other reviews we have conducted. We look at several factors – the website and all of it links, content, policies, products and services, and processes; testimonials that it posts; evaluation of sample writings; customer reviews we find on other places. We also evaluate the ordering process and the quality of a product which we order and receive, along with our experience with the customer support department. Our Papers Helm review summary is the following:

Website Quality

The site is organized around a home page that identifies the types of academic writing products and services offered and a pictorial representation of the ordering and receipt process. There are links to key pages, such as contact information and ordering, at the top and footer pages that include policies, guarantees, testimonials, etc. Navigation is relatively easy.

The home page also features a few of its writers, all with Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. Unfortunately, the photos are all stock which we easily found on the web. Are these writers for real? We don’t know.

Quality of Products and Services

Product quality has been determined by three criteria – a review of the sample products posted on the site, Papershelm reviews by customers, and our own received product – a college research paper we ordered.

• Samples: We reviewed several sample writings on the site – basic essays and research papers. Unfortunately, we found not just poor grammar but, as well, lack of thesis statements. In one instance, a sample biology paper on new medical breakthroughs (genome testing, etc.) and their impact on human health included a conclusion that introduced improvements in agricultural products.
• Customer reviews were mixed. Students at university levels complained that the writing and resources were not up to standards of that level but more for high school students. There were also complaints regarding grammar and composition.
• Our order arrived on time; however, we too found lot of grammar and sentence structure errors which would be indicative of a non-ENL writer, even though the company claims that all writers are native-English speakers from English-speaking universities.

On the site pricing guide, we also found that the company could promise a dissertation in as little as three hours up to 15 days. We contacted customer support to check on this and were told that this was true. Obviously, they must not understand what a dissertation is, and their supposed 300+ Ph.D.’s must not either.

Papershelm.com does not have a BBB membership that we could find. Nevertheless, the company is not a fraud or scam.

Prices and Discounts

With the current 50% discount on all products, prices are about average. Our 8-page paper was $130.00. There are no set discounts, but the company states that it provides them with either a special promo code or coupon codes when a customer registers for them.

Extra Features

Papers Helm does not provide free perks, other than revisions. There are fee-based extras that can be added to an order, including a plagiarism check ($8.00), a grammar check ($8.00), writer selection ($10.00) and a “quality check” ($3.00). Very few details are given about these.

Conclusion

In considering pros & cons of Papershelm, we can state that products are completed and delivered on time. Quality of writing, especially at the college level, can be an issue. As well, the company is promising impossible deadlines. Our rating for this service is “Fair.”
